Telford’s multi-million pound Station Quarter regeneration plans approved

The borough council says its planners have approved the project, which they say is a significant milestone in the regeneration of Telford Town Centre.

It is being partly funded with £200 million pound investment of match-funding from the private sector, as well as £22.3 million from the Government’s Towns Fund.

Supported living complex could be build on derelict Telford land

The former Queens Head site on the junction of Moss Road and Rookery Road in Wrockwardine Wood, has been chosen by a developer to build 13 supported living apartments.

The one-bedroom apartments would be built in three separate two-storey blocks, with four homes in each building.

Plans submitted to Telford & Wrekin Council include a staff/management building – including a bedroom, residents’ laundry facilities, communal gardens and car parking.

Jobs fear as company with Telford bases announces consultation

SW Group Logistics, which offers end-to-end transportation, confirmed that a staff redundancy consultation is under way after the business lost a major contract.

The company, which has a warehouse at Stafford Park and distribution hub at Halesfield 21, would not confirm the number of jobs at risk.
