Parish council says Shropshire’s housing plan will ‘be seriously destructive’

The warning from Morville Parish Council comes as Shropshire Council revealed on Thursday its long-awaited reply to planning inspectors carrying out an examination of its Local Development Plan (LDP) – the document that sets out housing and development plans for every town and village in the Shropshire Council area.

The response, which if approved by the authority’s cabinet next Wednesday, will be sent to the government’s planning inspector for consideration.

Amazon Is Rolling Out Palm Payments to All 500+ Whole Foods Stores

Amazon is set to roll out palm payments at every Whole Foods Market store in the US by the end of this year.

Today, Amazon confirmed(Opens in a new window) that all 500+ Whole Foods stores will be fitted with the Amazon One palm payment terminals this year, allowing shoppers to leave wallets and phones in their pockets (or at home) when paying.

Currently, over 200 Whole Foods stores offer palm payments, which means Amazon has quite the task on its hands to get the technology installed at another 300+ stores within the next four months.

The planning department at Telford & Wrekin Council approved the plans for the Grade II-listed Picken House at a meeting on Wednesday this week.

The site, on 119 and 121 High Street in Newport, was formerly a boarding house for the Adams Grammar School, alongside Roddam and Beaumaris – once home to 85 senior schoolboys.

Now, plans have been approved to convert the building into four new residential dwellings and a commercial unit.
